Horton Plains

Horton Plains is a very attractive place situated in central highlands of Sri lanka. This land spreads over 3160 of hectares bound by the two mountains Kirigalpotta and Thotupala which is the second and Third highest mountains in the country. This consists of montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands, attractive waterfalls etc. A large number of  endemic flora and fauna found in here and it increases the value and the beauty of this place. Horton Plains is one of the main tourist destination in sri lanka. Many local and foreign tourists visit this place to feel the coldest and windiest climate and to experience the beauty of the nature. Among the waterfalls in Horton place, Bakers fall brings a great value to the nature. The world's End is the key attractive place found in here and it is very popular among the tourists. This natural park was designated in 1988 and named as a world Heritage in 2010 by UNESCO.
